CAULIFLOWER PEAS KURMA

This is my mom’s version of cauliflower pea’s kurma… I have tried this many times after marriage and every time it comes out perfectly, and this goes a great combination with Chapatti and curd... Chapatti is my all time favorite... And I eat it plainly without any side dish... Will tell you a short story of how I did my first try of making chapatti... The story begins like this,I called mom and asked how to make Chapatti she said the normal procedure…
Flour + warm water + salt + oil... I know water and salt should be little... But oil... While preparing the dough... The dough was sticky and I don't know to remove and form a whole mass of chapatti dough... So poured in plenty of oil (when I rested the chapatti dough it was in the middle of oil)... Then added flour to compensate that and soft chapatti became like disc ...
And finally we had dinner in the nearby hotel... And now after lots of experiments I really make soft Chapatti... This is a simple dish... But the flavor and aroma,is sinfully delicious.

Ingredients:

Cauliflower - 1(medium seized)
Peas - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Oil - 1 tbs
Salt - to taste
Turmeric powder - 1/3 tsp
Coriander leaves - few

To Grind:
Red dried chilly - 3
Green chilly - 1
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
Coconut - 2 tbs
Onion - 1/2
Clove - 2
Elachi - 1
Cashew - 3
Garlic - 2
Ginger - 1/3 inch

Method:

Cut cauliflower into small florets and add it to the boiling water with little salt, turmeric and drop in the peas and allow it to boil for 5 mins and drain the excess water and reserve the water for curry.

Then grind the ingredients under "To Grind" to a smooth paste.

Take a kadai pour in oil and add onions and tomato and saute well, then add in the ground masala and saute till oil oozes out.

Then add the half cooked cauliflower and peas and saute for 2 mins and pour in water and allow it to boil

Serve with chapatti or veg briyani and enjoy this delicious kurma...And you will want for more.

Notes:

Cauliflower gets cooked easily so don't boil for long time or it get's mashed.

This is a basic ingredients for veg curries so you can change any veggie of your choice.

You can replace red chilly to  red chilly powder(1/4 tsp) and coriander seeds to coriander powder (1 tsp)

Keep smiling!:)
