I had some left over capsicum after using for
bhel... And wanted to try capsicum and chicken combination for a long time... To tell u I never
eat capsicum before, but after i tasted Thai cashew chicken with full of flavors,
cubed capsicum and cashews.
The recipe in it has lots
of cashews and square shaped sautéed capsicum, dish looks so colorful with tri
color capsicum, which tempted me to taste... It had a crisp flavor and tasted
great with chicken... From then started using capsicum in my dishes...whenever mom
makes chicken fried rice she adds green capsicum to it, I will pick out all the
capsicum and eat the rest... And mom keeps telling me that it will taste nice
with nice...Later accepted that she was correct...
Ingredients:
To marinate:
Chicken boneless- 200 grams(pounded)
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/3 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
To Temper:
Oil - 1/2 tbs
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Bay leaf - 1
For Gravy:
Onion - 1
Tomato - 2
Green capsicum - 1/2(cube shaped)
Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 3/4 tsp
Tomato sauce - 1 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves - few
Salt - to taste
Method:
Pound the chicken boneless well cut in to small cubes and marinate with the ingredients under"To Marinate" set a said and leave for at least half an hour.
Take a kadai pour in oil and add the ingredients under "To Temper" and allow the cumin to pop up and add in chopped in onion and saute till light golden.
Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell leaves out, then add chopped tomato and tomato sauce and saute till the tomato are mushy.
Add in the powder spices and saute till oil leaves out and add in marinated chicken and saute well and cook the chicken closed for 20 mins in low flame.
Then add in the cubed green bell peppers and saute, cook for 2 mins and add in chopped coriander and give a quick stir.
Serve hot with chapatti or pulao and enjoy, each bite of capsicum and chicken.
Notes:
Don't skip to pound the chicken,it gives a juicy texture to chicken and prevents hardening of chicken, pounding is take a stone masher and hit the boneless thick piece to same level.
Then chicken i did was a dry one,if you want semi gravy just add in 1/3 cup of water and boil till semi gravy, and adjust the spice accordingly.
Don't saute the capsicum very soft try to retain its crunchiness.
Keep Smiling!:)
